There are many historic houses nearby such as Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall and Chatsworth House.

Derby is home to Englands first public park, Derby Arboretum which was the model for Central Park in New York.


For excitement try Donington Race Circuit or have fun at the Alton Towers theme park.

We are ideally situated for visiting Royal Crown Derby and Denby potteries.


For visitors interested in literary greats the homes of Lord Byron, D H Lawrence and Dr Johnson are all a short drive away.

Thornhill Lodge  is approximately one mile from Derby city centre. It is a ten minute walk from the Royal Derby Hospital and a five minute drive from the University of Derby's main campus. We  are ideally situated for visitors to Rolls Royce, Toyota and Bombardier.

Thornhill Lodge is also conveniently placed for easy access to major routes; M1, A38 and A50.

Easy access to public transport also means you can leave your car in the private car park and head into the city for a wide choice of restaurants cinemas or theatres.


There is a choice of pubs and restaurants just a few minutes walk away.
